I'm Back!
Hi there! So you may have noticed that I've been the worst when it comes to this blog and the shop and have barely updated as of late! I have (somewhat) of a good reason though, in the last two months I moved halfway across the country from Boston to Bloomington, Indiana to start working for a great company! As I've been trying to settle in to my new town, new apartment, new job (new everything), I just wasn't that inspired to blog or update the store. Plus I was totally mourning being separated from my favorite place to find vintage back home.
Not surprisingly, though I started to miss the hunt of thrifting, my wardrobe felt super stale (I was literally wearing my favorite black circle mini skirt like 4 days a week), and overall was just feeling inspired by fashion in general. Which then of course affected how I felt about my appearance and so on and so forth. Luckily though, the vintage bug bit once again after I made an effort to start finding vintage here in Indiana and luckily if you hunt hard enough great vintage can be found anywhere. Soooo I'm feeling super good about this blog and the shop once again and have tons of ideas and clothes to share, so stay tuned. I'm planning on taking pictures of some of the new shop merchandise that I have later today too (read when I'm less hungover). In the meantime here are some pics from my time in Bloomington thus far and don't forget to follow Dripping Dream Vintage on Facebook and Instagram for the latest and greatest.

After a painfully long Winter, the weather is finally getting warm here in Massachusetts! I am starting to move my wardrobe into Spring mode, which means tons of floral prints. Lately, I've been super obsessed with Sunflower-print things, which I don't have any of despite owning about 20 flower printed items (~tuff life~). Here are some Sunflower items that I have been lusting over lately:

American Apparel posted this shirt on their Facebook, but I cannot find it for sale on their site! What is this conspiracy? I love this shirt so much. I've stared at this picture several times this week.

Vintage Shop Update
Hi! I wanted to share some new items that I have added to the shop since I've last posted on here. Keep your eyes peeled too because there's a truckload of additional items that I need to add/photograph, including something that I am really excited about.... Dripping Dream Vintage menswear! Woo!
Also are there any items that you particularly want me to add? Certain styles, colors, fabrics, etc that you are really into right now? Let me know and I will keep my eyes peeled during my next buy!

Style Icon: Kim Gordon
Anyone who knows me should not be surprised to hear the following statement: I freaking love Sonic Youth. They are probably my favorite band after Eric's Trip, who named themselves after a Sonic Youth song. I took a page from Eric's Trip and named my shop/blog after a Sonic Youth song too. I rest my case.
I think one of the reasons I love Sonic Youth so much is because of their epic bassist/vocalist, Kim Gordon. Kim was one of the first "cool girl musicians" that I really looked up to. She's a huge inspiration to me and definitely could be considered one of my all-time personal heroes. Thus, I thought it would be totes appropriate to devote a Style Icon post to her! Plus, did you know that Kim has started several of her own clothing lines including X-Girl in the mid 90s, Surface to Air in 2008 and Mirror/Dash for Urban Outfitters in 2009.
Below are some of my favorite Kim fashion statements and ways that you can get her look!
The Black and White Stripped Mini: Whenever I think of Kim Gordon's fashion choices, I always think of her in a black and white stripped mini dress probably because she wore on in the 90s a lot!). A dress like this is definitely a classic wardrobe staple and below are some links to ones that I found on the 'net. The one on the right is sequined (!!) too, which I feel Kim would be totes into.

The Cool-Ass Graphic Tee: 90s Kim always seemed to be wearing the best shirts with some type of fun image or message on them. Pick one with your favorite band logo or a cool throwback to a 80s or 90s tv show! Below are some that I really like.... including a modern-day recreation of Kim's "Girls Invented Punk Rock Not England" Shirt... obsessed!

The Black Choker: A girl has obvs got to accessorize and as you can see from the above picture and also some of the other pictures of Kim here, she loves her black choker. And I totally agree! It's a great way to add a little extra pizzazz to your look!

The Flip Top Glasses: I'm sorry, but no post on Kim Gordon's style would be complete without mention of the flip top glasses that she sported back in the 80s! Kim has totally inspired me to get my flip on and I urge you to do the same! How can you deny how cool she looks in that pic? Penelope Meatloaf is selling some rad flip-top sunnies in a variety of colors.. so perfect for Spring! (PS. you can get a skull and crossbones guitar strap like her's here. PPS. oh hai thur Thurston)

Do you have a favorite Kim Gordon style moment? Let me know in the commments! And stay tuned to the shop because tons of vintage items will be added all week long!

Summer Camp
Earlier today I was listening to the band Summer Camp and then was looking through their album covers and was really struck by how much I love the aesthetic of their early singles and EPs. There is something so romantic about the stock images from the '60s,'70s and '80s they use-they remind of old pictures of my parents when they were younger!
So I was looking at these covers and started coming up with so much outfit inspiration of looks I could wear with pieces I already own! Namely bell bottoms, bell sleeves, floral crop tops and maxi skirts and wooden clogs. Hopefully you will find some inspiration too!
Here are some new things that have been added to the shop lately!

I also have sooo much more vintage to add! I've been thrifting like crazy and have found some really, really good items!! Velvet, peter pan collars, 90s florals, lace, 70s mini dresses and more! I'm hoping to photograph it all this weekend so hopefully you will see more new stuff then! :)
