Been really enjoying having some downtime this weekend as this past week was soo hectic! Pretty much every night I had some type of errand/appointment/plan after work or was just at work really late, so I have been all too pleased to just sit on my bed like a (cute) bump on a log. Kidding, sorta. While I have been doing plenty of relaxing this weekend, I've gotten out a bit too. On Friday night I went to the Red Sox game with my Sister, Meredith, which was fun. A poor woman got hit with part of a baseball bat and Meredith and I got interviewed for the news about it! We didn't actually make the newscast though. Most likely because we didn't actually see anything and pretty much BS'd the answers to the news anchor's questions. And I suppose a woman who also got hit with part of the bat was a much better source than we were. Sigh.

Also did a bit of thrifting yesterday at my favorite Goodwill, which is where I acquired these kick ass Bowie-esque metallic boots that still had the original sticker on them! They probably aren't the most practical footwear choice, but for a cool $8 I couldn't say no. They are by Dolce Vita and a quick Google search tells me they were originally sold at Urban Outfitters. Not sure what the retail price was but I'm sure it was more than $8! For the height, they are actually surprising comfy and easy to walk in (read: only fell twice in them). Thinking I might bring them with me on my trip to New York next weekend!

Lastly, did ya notice the new look here on Dripping Dream? Decided that after 2+ years it was time to give this old girl a facelift and I think she's looking pretty darn good! Although for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to decrease the amount of white space surrounding the header and get everything to move up a bit. SOS? Help anyone?

Long weekend - woohoo! It's only Saturday so I still have two more full days off and that my friends is a glorious concept. Plus it seems like Summer is just around the corner! Do you have any big Memorial Day weekend plans? Tomorrow I will be going to Boston Calling with a bunch of friends including my friend Jackie who is visiting from Washington DC -- should be fun for sure!

This Ringo Deathstarr shirt has got to be one of my most worn t-shirts... if you are not listening this band, you should! They make some very good, dreamy music that Ringo Deathstarr. They are heading out on tour this Summer too! No Boston date though :(

The rest of this outfit is pretty typical of what I've been into lately.... printed flares (I love how they match the outside of my house!) and clogs: two great ways to rock the 70s inspired trend for sure!

Ah it's been a bit, hasn't it? Gosh I am such a fairweather blogger sometimes. I dunno... I take all the pictures myself and like to have full creative control over this space and sometimes I'm just not feeling too inspired to add any new content. Blah blah blah. But luckily the warm weather appears to be here for good and having the ability to take photos outside is always good for my creative juices :)

This outfit here is essentially what has been my uniform so far this Spring and the Spring before that (and before that) and oh look this outfit is really, really similar to the time I dressed up as Audrey Horne for Halloween. It's almost worn out of necessity.... so done with black tights, not yet warm enough for bare legs (although I did go for that last night...getting crazy), so whaddya do? Knee socks. Knee socks forever man. Does anyone want to start a knee sock gang with me? Knee socks + a mini skirt + some type of strappy sandal.... so easy. So cute.

Everything I am wearing here besides the damn cute knee socks (Forever 21)  is thrifted. This red skirt I've had forever and it originally came from my favorite Goodwill up the street... as did this top and the sandals. Wow I shop there way too much. Sometimes I think I'm the main person keeping that place in business. I'm psyched on these sunnies too. I broke my favorite pair of vintage 70s sunglasses a little while ago, and then happened to come across these guys at Savers (my new favorite thrift shop) and thought they were a pretty good replacement pair! Can't get enough of that big oversized look. My lipstick is Sephora brand and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a good hot pink color. It's called Love Test!

ALSO! I have now been regularly (ok semi regularly) been posting outfits on here for over a year (!).  And in that time I've been lucky enough to meet some very cool ladies from the bloggersphere, which is by far my favorite part of this blogging thing! :)

As I mentioned before, I am currently on vacation with my family in Treasure Island, Florida. My Dad and his girlfriend just moved here pretty recently and I naturally jumped at the opportunity to come visit them. It is so pretty here. It really does feel like living in some sort of tropical paradise. I mean just look at that sunset! And it's like that practically every day! My dress here is a little vintage number from the 60s or early 70s that I thrifted in Boston right before coming on this trip. I might end up selling this one, but for right now it feels like the perfect thing to be wearing at the beach. Plus, I am such a sucker for the pattern: psychedelic Hawaiian flowers? Yes please.

I've mostly just been lounging around, working on my tan (ahem), eating, swimming and going to the most intense spin classes ever... can't complain at all. And also doing a little bit of thrifting and vintage hunting (omg shocking). Lisa, my Dad's girlfriend, loves thrifting just as much as I do and I really like going with her. It's nice to have someone to talk you out of buying all those weird, slightly discolored vintage coats and to have someone agree that all those weird (yet awesome!!) 70s, polyester button up shirts that you love are just as radical as you think they are!

On Sunday, we wanted to go visit Artpool Gallery in St. Petersburg, which is one of the dreamiest vintage shops I've ever been too. I first found it when I was here on vacation 2 years ago and make a point of visiting every time! If you are ever in the area, I would highly suggest you check it out.... it's filled to the brim with furs, vintage boots, hats, denim, groovy dresses and everything in between. Sadly, it's a bit too expensive for my wallet, but nonetheless it's a blast to visit. They also have a record shop, a little cafe with sandwiches and beer, and a cute little outdoor patio to sit at. If I ever realize my dream of owning a vintage shop, I want it to be like this one! Anyways, we accidentally drove past Artpool and as we were turning around we stumbled upon the Brocante Vintage Market, which is a very adorable monthly antique market. Fate! And it was there that I upped my growing box purse collection with the two guys below. Ugh box purses are like the cutest things ever. Plus the little house was only $8. Unreal!!

This is what I wore to have dinner with my Mom and celebrate her birthday yesterday. I hate to keep going on about the weather, but it's so cold and that definitely is a factor when getting dressed! All I can think about is sweaters. This one is from Urban Outfitters, but I've had it for probably 4 or 5 years... one of my favorites. I love the slouchy shape, how it's a little bit sparkly and the fact that it's my favorite color: orange!

Before we get to the outfit, I just wanted to note that I was just listening to the new Vaselines record and I'm not sure how I'm feeling about it. Not bad per se, but I listened to 4 songs and then decided I'd rather hear Dum-Dum and put that on instead, so that really doesn't bode well for the quality of the new one, does it? Should I reconsider though? Also, I'm going to see Beautiful Noise tomorrow and I'm sooo excited! I've wanted to see it since I first saw the trailer floating around the interwebz at some point last year. Also also Swervedriver is playing here in March!!! Yayyy! I am thrilled. I saw them once before, but in the last two or so years I've gotten way into them and would now say they're up there as one of my favorite of the shoegazey bands... dare I say I like them more than MBV (this emoji)? Raise and Mezcal Head are classic you guys! //end music ramble//

So here's something INSANE.... nothing I'm wearing here is thrifted! Considering the fact that I pretty much only shop at Goodwill these days this is kind of a feat. Also overalls! I must say I'm into the trend. These ones are from H&M and are made of that stretchy denim material so they are super comfy and the dark wash makes them quite flattering. I also like how the cut is vaguely 70s inspired, but mostly modern so I don't look like this.... nothing wrong with that though, Lance: you do you in those khaki's!

Happy Sunday! This is what I wore on Friday go out with two of my bffs, Sarah and Colleen. We went over to Sarah's new apartment and ate Thai food and pretzels and then went to this place called Scholars in downtown Boston. It was a bit more clubby club than my usual scene, but I still had fun. It's always fun to dance!

I ordered this dress on a whim from PYLO earlier this week. It was crazy marked down -- only 10 bucks! I couldn't pass that up. It's definitely a bit more of a summer dress with the lace overlay and everything, so I figured that I might as well wear it out and get at least one wear out of it before the Fall starts rearing it's chilly vibes.

That being said, it was kinda cold the other day so I added this black leather jacket, mainly for warmth. I just thrifted this and was psyched as I didn't have one already. It's got a bit of an 80s style to it, but that's ok. I'm a huge fan of the way a leather jacket can give a feminine, girly dress a harder edge. Plus they make you look badass! I am definitely not as badass as I appear in these photos, but I'm ok with that.

Also! This outfit marks the return of knee socks. I'm down with wearing knee socks, but I'm definitely not ready for tights.... shudder. Beyond that, the sunnies are newly thrifted and the boots are Ann Klein (I ended up switching these with black clogs before I went out, but you get the idea).

Planning on working on my Etsy shop today, I have tons of vintage to get up there, so stay tuned!
