Ah it's been a bit, hasn't it? Gosh I am such a fairweather blogger sometimes. I dunno... I take all the pictures myself and like to have full creative control over this space and sometimes I'm just not feeling too inspired to add any new content. Blah blah blah. But luckily the warm weather appears to be here for good and having the ability to take photos outside is always good for my creative juices :)

This outfit here is essentially what has been my uniform so far this Spring and the Spring before that (and before that) and oh look this outfit is really, really similar to the time I dressed up as Audrey Horne for Halloween. It's almost worn out of necessity.... so done with black tights, not yet warm enough for bare legs (although I did go for that last night...getting crazy), so whaddya do? Knee socks. Knee socks forever man. Does anyone want to start a knee sock gang with me? Knee socks + a mini skirt + some type of strappy sandal.... so easy. So cute.

Everything I am wearing here besides the damn cute knee socks (Forever 21)  is thrifted. This red skirt I've had forever and it originally came from my favorite Goodwill up the street... as did this top and the sandals. Wow I shop there way too much. Sometimes I think I'm the main person keeping that place in business. I'm psyched on these sunnies too. I broke my favorite pair of vintage 70s sunglasses a little while ago, and then happened to come across these guys at Savers (my new favorite thrift shop) and thought they were a pretty good replacement pair! Can't get enough of that big oversized look. My lipstick is Sephora brand and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a good hot pink color. It's called Love Test!

ALSO! I have now been regularly (ok semi regularly) been posting outfits on here for over a year (!).  And in that time I've been lucky enough to meet some very cool ladies from the bloggersphere, which is by far my favorite part of this blogging thing! :)

Happy Valentines Day! Thanks to everyone that reads my little corner of the internet. I hope you have an amazing day with those you love!

As I mentioned before, I am currently on vacation with my family in Treasure Island, Florida. My Dad and his girlfriend just moved here pretty recently and I naturally jumped at the opportunity to come visit them. It is so pretty here. It really does feel like living in some sort of tropical paradise. I mean just look at that sunset! And it's like that practically every day! My dress here is a little vintage number from the 60s or early 70s that I thrifted in Boston right before coming on this trip. I might end up selling this one, but for right now it feels like the perfect thing to be wearing at the beach. Plus, I am such a sucker for the pattern: psychedelic Hawaiian flowers? Yes please.

I've mostly just been lounging around, working on my tan (ahem), eating, swimming and going to the most intense spin classes ever... can't complain at all. And also doing a little bit of thrifting and vintage hunting (omg shocking). Lisa, my Dad's girlfriend, loves thrifting just as much as I do and I really like going with her. It's nice to have someone to talk you out of buying all those weird, slightly discolored vintage coats and to have someone agree that all those weird (yet awesome!!) 70s, polyester button up shirts that you love are just as radical as you think they are!

On Sunday, we wanted to go visit Artpool Gallery in St. Petersburg, which is one of the dreamiest vintage shops I've ever been too. I first found it when I was here on vacation 2 years ago and make a point of visiting every time! If you are ever in the area, I would highly suggest you check it out.... it's filled to the brim with furs, vintage boots, hats, denim, groovy dresses and everything in between. Sadly, it's a bit too expensive for my wallet, but nonetheless it's a blast to visit. They also have a record shop, a little cafe with sandwiches and beer, and a cute little outdoor patio to sit at. If I ever realize my dream of owning a vintage shop, I want it to be like this one! Anyways, we accidentally drove past Artpool and as we were turning around we stumbled upon the Brocante Vintage Market, which is a very adorable monthly antique market. Fate! And it was there that I upped my growing box purse collection with the two guys below. Ugh box purses are like the cutest things ever. Plus the little house was only $8. Unreal!!

I am currently editing these photos and writing this post from space! Ok, the airplane, but that's probably as close to space that I'm gonna get. There's free wi-fi ("fly-fi"), outlets for chargers, and TV so I am watching SVU simultaneously... that Jet Blue: pretty swanky.

I took these photos before I left for the airport... I was trying to wear something that would arguably work for both the frigid tundra that is Boston and also for going out with my homies in Florida for NYE once I land. If there's one thing I noticed from going back through some of my posts from this year, I love me some denim. And I don't foresee that changing anytime soon... denim pants, jackets, shirts... gimme all of it.

In addition to denim on denim, right now I am also into playing with proportions and layers by putting dresses over pants. This dress here is something I thrifted and I am a little puzzled as to how best style it... is it supposed to be a dress or a shirt? It seems more like a dress, but it's totally see-through so what to wear under it? I think putting it over pants solved half the issue and then I just placed a plain black tank underneath too. Regardless, I think it's a super pretty and unique item... originally from Free People! I really love Free People's clothing, but it's soooo expensive, so I am always happy to find their stuff when I go thrifting!

Anyways, I hope your New Year's Eve was great and happy January 1st!

Wow! I can't believe another year has come and gone! I wanted to take a little time to reflect on 2014, and what a year it was. Last December 31st I was on a plane back to my home in Indiana and this year I am once again living in what's arguably my favorite city in the country: Boston. I did so much this year: got a new job, got a license and a car (finally), sold vintage in person for the first time (and it was a success!), made new friends, turned some old friends into roommates, and started consistently sharing my outfits on this blog. I am such a fan of personal style and love to read other people's style blogs, so here's to hoping that I keep it up with the outfit posts in 2015!

Below are some of my favorite outfits that I shared this year. I really enjoyed going back through some of my old posts and revisiting these outfits. It's funny that some items in my closet seem to appear on here several times: denim overcoat, american flag box purse and light blue 70s button up, I'm looking at you! I guess we all have our favorites haha.

I am very lucky and am off to Florida this afternoon so I will be ringing in 2015 among palm trees! I have been hoarding some 70s dresses that are perfect for warm weather so hopefully there will be plenty of pictures to share in a later post. Have the best New Year's Eve and here's to next year!!
