Wow! I can't believe another year has come and gone! I wanted to take a little time to reflect on 2014, and what a year it was. Last December 31st I was on a plane back to my home in Indiana and this year I am once again living in what's arguably my favorite city in the country: Boston. I did so much this year: got a new job, got a license and a car (finally), sold vintage in person for the first time (and it was a success!), made new friends, turned some old friends into roommates, and started consistently sharing my outfits on this blog. I am such a fan of personal style and love to read other people's style blogs, so here's to hoping that I keep it up with the outfit posts in 2015!

Below are some of my favorite outfits that I shared this year. I really enjoyed going back through some of my old posts and revisiting these outfits. It's funny that some items in my closet seem to appear on here several times: denim overcoat, american flag box purse and light blue 70s button up, I'm looking at you! I guess we all have our favorites haha.

I am very lucky and am off to Florida this afternoon so I will be ringing in 2015 among palm trees! I have been hoarding some 70s dresses that are perfect for warm weather so hopefully there will be plenty of pictures to share in a later post. Have the best New Year's Eve and here's to next year!!

YO! Just a quick little post / PSA about the fact that I am going to be selling my vintage stock in person at Boston Hassle's Black Market flea market this Saturday, Dec 13 at the Cambridge Elks Lodge in Cambridge. The event goes from 12-6pm and is guaranteed to be a blast and a half! This is the 2nd Black Market that they've had and I was a vendor at the first one and it was soooo much fun. If you live in Massachusetts / New England, come on down and hang!

ALSO I got my driver's license today. Praise da lord. So now I can drive myself to this shindig!!! So happy.

This little brown suede mini skirt might be my favorite skirt that I own. I can't say no to a good mini and I have amassed quite the collection including some other suede ones, but this guy here really takes the cake. It's made of the nicest, buttery brown vintage suede and I love the super flared A-line shape. I had actually been looking for a skirt like this for the longest time.... it was one of those thrifting bucket list items, if you will. I found this one back in Indiana at this place called Vintage Vogue which is run by Goodwill but more expensive than a regular Goodwill and organized like a boutique. I had heard that Vintage Vogue was not really worth looking at, but one day I was walking by and figured I might as well just pop in to see what they had. And lo and behold there was this skirt -- on the half-off rack nonetheless. I think I only paid like 7 bucks for it. I swear, the thrifitng gods really spoil me sometimes. I have no idea what I do to deserve all these beautiful vintage items. Do you have anything on your thrifting bucket list? I think I've pretty much found everything I've really wanted!

The rest of this outfit isn't as exciting as the skirt. This blue and white button down I got at Marshalls or something with my Mom to wear on job interviews, but I've actually been incorporating it into my regular wardrobe a lot more than I thought I would. I like how it gives an outfit a structured, preppy vibe without being too overt about it. And the cardigan and boots are two wardrobe staples that have both made appearances on this blog countless times before!

Lately I have been making it a point to really take pride in how my bedroom looks and have been focused on decorating it with things that I love and make it really feel like my own space. For awhile I wasn't sure if I was going to be staying in my current apartment or moving, but I'm staying and two of my best girlfriends are going to be moving in with me next month. Yay! I still have some work to do on the room, but I am really happy with how it's coming along so I took a few snaps to share.

This is what I wore to have dinner with my Mom and celebrate her birthday yesterday. I hate to keep going on about the weather, but it's so cold and that definitely is a factor when getting dressed! All I can think about is sweaters. This one is from Urban Outfitters, but I've had it for probably 4 or 5 years... one of my favorites. I love the slouchy shape, how it's a little bit sparkly and the fact that it's my favorite color: orange!

I've mentioned on here before that Emily Theobald is one of my all time favorite bloggers/stylists/personal style icons, so you can imagine my happiness when I saw these photos featuring her and styled by another one of my favorite bloggers, Ashley Ording from Fancy Fine! Not only do I love both of these ladies, but these photos are an absolute dreeeam. This type of soft 70s vibe is what I'd ideally like to look like every day (it's good to dream, right?). Not to mention the gorgeous colors, hair, makeup and that jacket covered in pins! Dying. I've looked at these photos about a dozen times in the last day and can't wait to try and recreate some of these looks with items I already own. I think my favorite look is the one with the high waisted green pants, but it's hard to pick. Do you have a favorite?

Before we get to the outfit, I just wanted to note that I was just listening to the new Vaselines record and I'm not sure how I'm feeling about it. Not bad per se, but I listened to 4 songs and then decided I'd rather hear Dum-Dum and put that on instead, so that really doesn't bode well for the quality of the new one, does it? Should I reconsider though? Also, I'm going to see Beautiful Noise tomorrow and I'm sooo excited! I've wanted to see it since I first saw the trailer floating around the interwebz at some point last year. Also also Swervedriver is playing here in March!!! Yayyy! I am thrilled. I saw them once before, but in the last two or so years I've gotten way into them and would now say they're up there as one of my favorite of the shoegazey bands... dare I say I like them more than MBV (this emoji)? Raise and Mezcal Head are classic you guys! //end music ramble//

So here's something INSANE.... nothing I'm wearing here is thrifted! Considering the fact that I pretty much only shop at Goodwill these days this is kind of a feat. Also overalls! I must say I'm into the trend. These ones are from H&M and are made of that stretchy denim material so they are super comfy and the dark wash makes them quite flattering. I also like how the cut is vaguely 70s inspired, but mostly modern so I don't look like this.... nothing wrong with that though, Lance: you do you in those khaki's!
